President's Report

Hi Everyone--

If you haven't already, register today for our April PDM on 4/20!  This PDM is being hosted by our UW-Parkside APICS Student Chapter.  We'll be discussing Indirect Procurement, so if you've ever wanted to learn more about the field, this is your chance!

We recently made an offering for a certification review course for the new CLTD credential (Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution).  We didn't reach the minimum registration to host the course, but if you are interested, please let us know so we can be sure to reach out when scheduling future opportunities.  We are also planning to offer another Basics of Supply Chain Management course for the CPIM credential before the exam format changes.  This will be your last chance to take the current course with RAKE before the new format begins late fall, so be sure to watch your e-mails.

As you're thinking about our Chapter's upcoming PDMs and certification review courses, also think about who you could be connecting to APICS!  Is there a co-worker you think could benefit from APICS involvement?  Is there a friend of family member you think could benefit?  If so, please forward a newsletter, class e-mail, Facebook page link, or direct them to our website! YOU can be part of the way we continue to share the APICS body of knowledge!

David Averill, CSCP
President - Racine/Kenosha APICS

Are you interested in advancing your career by continuing your supply chain education?  Consider the APICS certifications for:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)

CSCP focus is on the end-to-end supply chain. It looks at topics relevant to your own organization as well as your customers and your suppliers. CPIM, alternatively, is more focused in-house on topics that include materials management, master scheduling, forecasting and production planning.  CLTD is also more focused within logistics, transportation, and distribution.  Learn more at APICS.ORG
