President's Report

Hi Everyone--

Welcome everyone to the 2017-2018 business year of the Racine/Kenosha chapter of APICS!  With that, I'd like to announce the changes below to our Board of Directors:

President Rosemary VanTreeck
Executive VP Phil Cwik
Secretary Ali Drvaric
Treasurer Craig Simpkins
VP of Education & Marketing Heather Schooler
VP of Student Relations Grant Averill

I hope you all had a great summer. Your chapter board has been busy planning our year.  We are especially proud to have as our September speaker Antonio Galvao.

Antonio currently works for Johnson Controls. Previously he worked for Shell and Johnson Wax Professional in Brazil and came to the USA in 2001 to Johnson Wax Professional. Then JohnsonDiversey that became Diversey and then was acquired by Sealed Air. He was with them for 17 years until he returned to the USA from Europe to join Johnson Controls.  He has spoken at the APICS Conference and is a standing contributor to the APICS magazine. Antonio writes the Working Green column for the magazine. I am looking forward to seeing Antonio present.

We will be presenting our annual awards at this meeting. We will be honoring UW-Parkside as our Company of the Year, Grant Averill as our Volunteer of the Year, and Kevin Radewan as our Instructor of the Year. In addition, we will be presenting our Student Chapter with their Gold award from APICS. A fantastic feat since this was their first year in existence!

Heather Schooler, our Education VP is busy preparing our education schedule that will include the new CPIM format, CSCP, and CLTD programs. The schedule will be published as soon as it is finalized.  Be sure to keep an eye for these newsletters and announcements on our website and Facebook page for more information!

Hoping to see you at the meeting on September 27 (register here). Please note this is the fourth Wednesday this month.

Rosemary VanTreeck
President - Racine/Kenosha APICS

Are you interested in advancing your career by continuing your supply chain education?  Consider the APICS certifications for:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)

CSCP focus is on the end-to-end supply chain. It looks at topics relevant to your own organization as well as your customers and your suppliers. CPIM, alternatively, is more focused in-house on topics that include materials management, master scheduling, forecasting and production planning.  CLTD is also more focused within logistics, transportation, and distribution.  Learn more at APICS.ORG
