President's Report

Hello Everyone--

Fall has definitely come to stay! I think we have even sampled a little bit of winter. Please plan to attend our November meeting on the 15th at Infusino's.  The presenter is Sameer Prasad. Sameer is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. He has published extensively in the area of quality, supply chain management, and international management. His research has appeared in outlets such as Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, etc. Currently, Sameer is a board member of IDSUSA.ORG, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping the very poor in India. He will be presenting Creating Disaster Resilient Communities along with some of his students. His students will be presenting some of the ideas and concepts they learned and applied during their capstone class, Global Operations Strategy.

Please see the Meeting page for November to get all the details on the presentation and to register.

I hope you can join us at Infusino's for our November meeting.

Are you interested in advancing your career by continuing your supply chain education?  Consider the APICS certifications for:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)

CSCP focus is on the end-to-end supply chain. It looks at topics relevant to your own organization as well as your customers and your suppliers. CPIM, alternatively, is more focused in-house on topics that include materials management, master scheduling, forecasting and production planning.  CLTD is also more focused within logistics, transportation, and distribution.  Learn more at APICS.ORG

For more information on our class offerings, including the latest schedule & pricing, please visit our website RAKEAPICS.ORG and click on ‘Education.’  Our intent is to offer certification review courses for each of these certifications. Please email us if you are interested and when we have enough interest to hold a class, we will schedule the dates.
