President's Report

ASCM - Association for Supply Chain Management

It has been said,” the only constant is change”.  So too does this apply to APICS.  If you haven’t already, you will soon be receiving your new ASCM membership card, which replaces your current APICS membership card.  You are now a member of ASCM and we’re glad that you are.  ASCM will now be the parent organization that includes APICS as an important part of the organization.  APICS has long been a trusted and recognized provider of education and certification.  That will be the role of APICS going forward as well.  Our local chapter will still be known as Racine/Kenosha APICS.  The changes that are taking are at the corporate level.  They should be of benefit to the overall organization and allow for continued growth in many ways.  I look forward to the changes and the growth of the overall organization.

At the same time, one thing that hasn’t changed is our local chapter commitment to you, our members.  We look forward to helping you grow and prosper by offering educational opportunities right here, close to home.  Please take a look through the newsletter and join us at our next event, it should be a good one.  As always, we welcome your ideas and suggestions on how we can continue to meet the needs of you, our members.

APICSly yours,

Phil Cwik, CPIM

President RAKE APICS

Certifications

Are you interested in advancing your career by continuing your supply chain education?  Consider the APICS certifications for:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)

CSCP focus is on the end-to-end supply chain. It looks at topics relevant to your own organization as well as your customers and your suppliers. CPIM, alternatively, is more focused in-house on topics that include materials management, master scheduling, forecasting and production planning.  CLTD is also more focused within logistics, transportation, and distribution.  Learn more at APICS.ORG

For more information on our class offerings, including the latest schedule & pricing, please visit our website RAKEAPICS.ORG and click on ‘Education.’  Our intent is to offer certification review courses for each of these certifications. Please email us if you are interested and when we have enough interest to hold a class, we will schedule the dates.
